I’ve always believed that orthodontics is about so much more than just straight teeth!

I grew up in Monroeville, Indiana. A small town where everyone knew everyone and I was once the shy, slightly awkward second grader with what people lovingly called my teeth the “Flying V”. I remember feeling self-conscious about my smile, but I also remember something much more important about my orthodontic experience: how my orthodontist made me feel.

Every time he walked into a waiting room full of patients, he would hold my chart high in the air, get down on one knee, and call out, “Princess!” Somehow, in a room full of people, he made me feel like I was his most important patient.

Looking back, that had very little to do with braces.

It was about feeling noticed. It was about feeling comfortable, confident, and important. I still remember the day I told my mom I could go back to my appointments by myself. She looked a little sad - but proud, too. It was one of my first little moments of independence.

That experience stayed with me. It was the first time I realized just how much an orthodontist can impact someone’s life. Yes, we create beautiful smiles. But we also get to be there during some pretty important chapters. First days of school, graduations, weddings, new jobs, growing families, and all of the little moments in between. We get to watch confidence grow right alongside a smile.

That is what ultimately led me here.

I attended the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne before earning my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. I then completed my orthodontic residency at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and went on to become board certified in Orthodontics.

But while the education and credentials matter - and believe me, I’m a little obsessed with getting the details right. I believe the best orthodontic care is about the whole experience.

That’s why I created Oberley Orthodontics! I wanted to build a place that feels different. Elevated and beautiful, but never intimidating. Modern and thoughtful, but still warm. A place where kids feel excited to walk through the door, teenagers feel confident being themselves, and adults feel like they’re finally doing something they’ve always wanted to do.

Most importantly, I want you to feel like you’re known here - not just like a name on a schedule.

Whether you’re seven or seventy, considering braces, Invisalign, or simply curious about what’s possible for your smile, I want your experience to feel personal, comfortable, and genuinely fun.

Because yes, I’m here to create incredible smiles. But more than anything, I’m here to make sure you leave feeling a little more confident than when you walked in.
